Following the success of the sponsored swim for St Luke’s Hospice earlier in the year which saw swimmers from St Thomas More and St Peter’s combining their efforts with Fr Oscar and Andreas to raise money for this worthwhile cause, Catherine Teague decided that she would undertake the “St Luke’s Midnight Walk” on 20th July. This walk was in memory of all those parishioners across the parish who have received, or who are receiving, care from St Luke’s. On the day itself, Catherine decided to read the “pack” which advised the importance of training – does buying her first pair of trainers in 10 years count? The first ten miles were fine, the last three a hard slog! Never realised just how hilly Plymouth is until you walk all round it! Anne Skerrett agreed to collect sponsorship from the parishioners at St Thomas More. Altogether the amount raised was over £350. Many thanks to all who offered encouragement and donated.– Catherine Teague
